MOD POST - IMPORTANT - ELECTION POLL

Attention everyone! It's time for the election poll for the City Guardian new term (July-December 2015). Here are the rules for voting in the poll:
1. All votes should be who your character would vote for, not who you would vote for.
2. You cannot use any information that your character does not know in the game to influence the vote.
3. Each character gets one vote for each city. While the instructions here are OOC and the post is in the OOC comm, each vote should be considered an IC vote. City Guardian candidates are permitted to vote and may vote for themselves.
4. Voting is via secret ballot ICly and characters will have submitted their vote via a notification that popped up on their devices that it was time to vote.
5. Your character is not required to vote, but for the next 24 hours they will have notifications basically 'harassing' them to vote every 5 minutes. It's far worse than a Windows update restart notification.

If you have any questions, reply to this post and a mod will get back to you as soon as possible. Otherwise, click on the cut to vote.

Questions

1. What does becoming Guardian involve? Any swearing-in ceremonies? I need to know especially if an oath needs to be taken, as I remember Satsuki saying something to that effect.

2. Must your muse wish to protect the city, or is it enough to keep up appearances while being evil/exploitative on the side? I.e., unleashing mooks to terrorize the populace while using plausible deniability for cover?

3. If a guardian wanted to change a law that had to do with the judiciary, how would they go about it?

1. They will be asked to take an oath to swear to protect the people, but there is not currently one written and therefore you are free to handwave it.

2. Provided they are not caught doing the opposite of their job, it is likely that they will not be removed from office. If, however, a City Guardian were to be exposed as being a fraud and a large number of citizens called for it with substantial evidence they obtained in-game, a vote may be called to impeach the Guardian in question.

3. Please make sure to read the City Guardian information and the question below it regarding the Genessian criminal justice system. This is vital information for all City Guardian players to have and contains the answer to that question.

Ohhh, okay I see it now, thanks. One question: That link says that the poll is based on OOC votes, yet this one was done IC. Is the linked thread not up-to-date?

It was an OOC poll still, the votes are still considered to be made according to the IC intents of the characters. The actual IC action was handwaved, as opposed to the former method in which all characters commented to a post with their votes / commentary / roleplaying in actual comments. This method helps the moderators ensure accurate vote counting, allows all players to quickly see where the polls are, and I don't have to buy a paid account for the mod journal for a single poll every 3-5 months. For reference, this is what the former "IC method" looked like. The new method also clearly encourages participation as well, adding to the list of benefits of the "OOC poll." As the link says it is an OOC poll, not OOC votes, it is still correct.
