What's that ticket for!? It's...

DATES: 2/25-3/3
Yeah, that's right. I used a 4 for an A. Deal with it, it's the 4th Genessia Pokemon event. People love Pokemon events, and it's been quite some time since the last one! This one is going to work a little differently than the previous ones, combining some of the "Random Event" style aspects with more of a free-choice event.
What Pokemon does my character start with during this event?
Every character may start with one starter Pokemon of your choice! Restrictions are that it must be a common Pokemon and it must be a low-level Pokemon (start at level 1). This means no legendaries, no special event Pokemon, etc. for your starter. However, you can choose any common Pokemon you like! That said there will be a maximum of 3 Pokemon of each type allowed so it is first-come, first-serve. Note: Because of their popularity, Eevee is not considered a "common Pokemon" for this event and will need to be caught using the event grid.
NOTE: THE FOLLOWING STARTERS ARE NO LONGER AVAILABLE:
Pichu
Magikarp
Rowlet
Igglybuff
Vulpix
Zorua
Alolan Vulpix
Mimikyu
Dratini
Popplio
Ralts
Honedge
Charmander
Togepi
Ghastly
Houndoor
Zubat
Growlithe
Beldum
Ponyta
Poochyena
How does my character get their Pokemon?
So that ticket that went out here? Your character needs to take that to a Pokemon Center this year to receive their Pokemon. With the event having started, characters will receive a message on their device about it. If your character is new, they will be given a ticket upon arrival so that they can still go and claim their Pokemon.
Your character’s name is on the ticket, so it can't be claimed by anyone other than your character. No exceptions. Alternatively, this is the Opt-Out option for players that don't want to involve their character with the plot. Just don't have your character go and cash in the ticket. However, even if you decide you don't want your character to participate in the event, the ticket still isn't allowed to be transferred to another player.
What about catching Pokemon after the starter?
The maximum for this event is 6 Pokemon. One starter, then four random common Pokemon. (We'll get to the 6th slot shortly.) These Pokemon are randomly generated by mods. However, there are some slight customizable differences from previous events to help you build your team the way you want it. You may request:
-Generation Preferences: Did you stop playing/caring about Pokemon games after Red/Blue/Yellow? Don't give a crap about Gen IV for whatever reason? We want you guys to have the most fun you can with this event, so please let us know if there are any Pokemon generations you specifically want us to RNG you from.
-Type Preferences: Know exactly what type of Pokemon you want? Want to build a fire team? Don't want a specific type but don't care otherwise as long as it's not that one? List it here. You can do this for each of your four Pokemon slots.
After that, the Pokemon will be randomized within your parameters. These are for common Pokemon, all will start at level 5 or lower. (Up to you) These are the Pokemon that your character can catch in-game on your own terms, do whatever you want. Get your randomized team here.
I'm not satisfied with what Pokemon I got. May I re-roll?
You may request up to two re-rolls and only on the original request. This is for mod sanity, thank you for understanding.
Okay. So how do I get a sixth Pokemon?
Your sixth Pokemon slot is the slot that can only be filled using the event grid. Event grid Pokemon are all non-common Pokemon (legendaries, mythicals, fossils, Eevees, and so on). The event grid will be an interactive grid that will operate similarly to the previous "To Catch a Thief" event. Each grid will stay up for three days and you may guess one spot for each grid update. There will be two grids (the event is 6 days long). After the three days, the grid will update with previous guesses and will be reposted. On the newly posted grid, you may guess another spot. It's similar to playing the game Battleship, but if you "hit" an event spot, you can catch a rare Pokemon. These Pokemon may be set, or there will be a couple of free choice spots up for grabs as well. Note that the Eevees on the grid will come with a specific stone. 73% of the spots on the grid have a prize of some kind, so there's a good chance you'll get something if you participate.
Note that legendary Pokemon are considered unique, so unique Pokemon that already exist within Genessia cannot be caught again. (Though if they have been caught in the past and their characters have either since dropped or did not choose to keep them, meaning those Pokemon are still available during this event.)
Available Legendaries: Zapdos Moltres Mewtwo Raikou Entei Suicune Lugia Ho-Oh Regice Registeel Regirock Latias Latios Groudon Kyogre Rayquaza Azelf Mesprit Uxie Dialga Palkia Giratina Cresselia Heatran Regigigas Cobalion Terrakion Virizion Tornadus Thundurus Landorus Zekrom Reshiram Kyurem Xerneas Yveltal Zygarde Cosmog (>Solgaleo) Cosmog (>Lunala) Necrozma | Available Mythical/Ultra Beasts: Mew Celebi Jirachi Deoxys Manaphy/Phione (Choose One) Darkrai Shaymin Arceus Victini Keldeo Meloetta (Aria) Meloetta (Pirouette) Genesect Diancie Hoopa Volcanion Magearna Marshadow Nihilego (codenamed UB-01 Symbiont) Buzzwole (codenamed UB-02 Absorption) Pheromosa (codenamed UB-02 Beauty) Xurkitree (codenamed UB-03 Lighting) Celesteela (codenamed UB-04 Blaster) Kartana (codenamed UB-04 Blade) Guzzlord (codenamed UB-05 Glutton) Poipole (codenamed UB Adhesive) Naganadel (codenamed UB Stinger) Stakataka (codenamed UB Assembly) Blacephalon (codenamed UB Burst) |
Please note that Tay will be running the grid herself so that Lisa and Dave can play as well, and will not be participating in order to make sure that the grid is run fairly. This is why each grid will be up for three days in order to give fair time for everyone’s requests to be processed, but once they are you may date finding whatever your character gets to whatever time during the event is convenient for you.
The second event grid is posted here.
Does my character get to keep their Pokemon once the event ends?
Yes, but only three (3). When the event ends, you select three Pokemon that you'd like for your character to keep and when the others leave, those three will stay behind. If you have Pokemon obtained from previous events, they will not be included in this selection ("staying" Pokemon can stay permanently until your character drops).
Can Pokemon be traded?
Pokemon can only be traded after the event ends. If someone has a Pokemon that you one and they have one that you want, a trade needs to be arranged so the swap can be made on the end event post.
How does leveling Pokemon work?
Your character can go around battling against trainers and fighting wild Pokemon. You are welcome to log out whatever you would like, this part will not be controlled by moderators. You can level up to 4 times per day if your character would be the type to drop the everything else in their life and just grind Pokemon. However, if they would not, please do not say your hard working character with 3 jobs leveled 4 times with every Pokemon they own. Be realistic and use your critical thinking skills to decide what’s reasonable for your character’s lifestyle.
How will my character keep track of their Pokemon's progress?
When your character receives their Pokemon, they will also receive a message on their device. The message is to come to the Pokemon Center to pick up their PokeBit. The PokeBit is like a FitBit, except it tracks the progress of their Pokemon. They will look something along the lines of this and this. However, the color of it is up to you. And characters that might not have traditional physiology like a human will get a modified version that they can attach to them.
Only Pokemon that they obtain during this event will be registered on this device.
Okay, so Pokemon has things like Evolution Stones, Mega Stones, TMs/HMs, and Z-Crystals. How does my character go about getting them?
Items can be found on the event grid. The event grid this time will be much more full than previous events. If you need a specific evolution stone, you need only get an "evolution stone" space, as you may choose whichever one you need. (Same with TM, Mega, Z-Crystals, etc.)
What about other items?
Given the number of Pokemon events we've had, there are already Pokemon Centers in the cities. Please rely on those so we don't have to worry about small items like potions, etc.
Will the newspaper contain opportunities for specific Pokemon/items like it did last time?
Yep, so keep an eye out!
Can my character hurt their Pokemon?
A character attempting to inflict any type of physical harm on their Pokemon will find the damage nullified. They will receive a warning on their device about it. Attempting it 2 more times will make the Pokemon will disappear and it will not be returned. Their other Pokemon will disappear as well.
Trying to inflict physical harm on someone else's Pokemon will result in the damage being nullified. Repeated attempts with result I the character finding themselves growing physically weaker until the point where they pass out.
I have another question!
Ask it here! Do not ask on the plurk where this is posted. There's usually a lot of discussion on that and there's a huge chance it will get lost or asked by a load of different people, so please reply to this location with all questions and check the questions that are already posted before asking. Thank you!
