Carnival Plot!

Basically...

So, you may be asking yourself at this point, "What the hell event is this?" It's mostly a fancy mingle, at the root of things. In Fancy Words: Azura has decided to run a carnival of sorts with a few extra bells and whistles outside of the normal carnival fare that will be all be explained below. There will, of course, be prompts and set dressing when the post(s) go up to make the event interesting and hopefully engaging! The event is open to everyone overall, but there are signups for booths so I can keep stuff in order and maintain my own sanity.

Carnival Attractions

There are several attractions that I plan on having at the carnival! There are also a few that are off the beaten path and a little more involved than the usual rides and attractions. But first, here are the attractions that are closer to normal speed:

• Carnival Rides - These will range from ferriswheels, merry-go-rounds, teacup rides, smaller roller coasters, that weird ship ride, drop tower to things like a RomanTic Tunnel of Love, bumper cars, and a spooky haunted house of mirrors. I am open to suggestions for specific rides!
• Game and Goods Booths - Darts, shooting ranges, tossing pingpong balls into cups to win prizes, to souvenir booths, fortune teller, build a bear type booths and other assorted booths. These will largely be filled with booths that players want to run and add for flavor.
• Food Stalls - It's not a carnival without cotton candy, pizza, funnel cake and all sorts of good delicious foods. Like the goods and game booths, players will be able to run their own booths here!

Now, for the more experimental attractions. Not all of these are super involved but they're a little more involved than the usual carnival fare. They'll have their own special subheader in the carnival post.

• Randomized Plays - There's no signing up for roles here, and it's definitely not as high brow as an opera. The carnival puts on randomized plays with participants being assigned roles when they sign up, or after they say they want in. It's never a role that would fit them traditionally, since the goal of these plays is comedy. Despite... the two plays chosen this year being Cats and Beauty and the Beast. Have fun with poor performances, hilarious ones, or just goofy shit going on behind the stage.
• Obstacle Course - This would be set up outside the fair grounds. Think ninja warrior for this. ALL special abilities would be nullified by a special power nullifying generator, meaning this competition is based on your normal abilities only. No cheating, no flying just raw muscle and determination.
• Eating Competition - What it says on the tin. A full 7 course meal would be served, each course only being set in front of the competitor after they've finished the first. Of course these are larger servings but speed is the key! Prizes include vouchers to restaurants in the area as well as a nice trophy
• Jousting Competition - Usually these are done to win a fair maiden's hand. Instead, these colorful and campy jousting matches will be done to win redbills! And perhaps an all expenses paid vacation to a ritzy hotel where you'll be waited on hand and foot.

Timing & Organization

• When is it? - Timing is important for an event like this. I am planning for the event to last one week, with the Carnival opening ceremony beginning Sunday night, and it being completely taken down by the following Sunday evening. September 16th through the 23rd is the date to remember.  The tournament the friday before will even be offering tickets to the carnival as a prize!
• Post Organization - I am planning on a main post with several top levels for each activity listed earlier. Most all of these will have several prompts to get creative juices flowing, as well! The potential for a second sibling post is possible, but only if it's needed, or suggested for certain attractions!

Sign-Ups

There is only one activity that needs a sign up to participate: running a booth. ICly booths will cost a small fee on top of ticket price to run. OOCly, unless you want to play it out your character cannot afford one, payments for this are given and handwaved. 99% of all booths you might want your character to run will be accepted, but keep in mind this is a carnival and Azura will deny booths that are inappropriate. If you sign up for a booth that would be considered such, I'll make sure to let you know before it comes time for the carnival.

Booth They Want to Run: Drinks booth, including soft and hard drinks . This can be anywhere from just plain old water to a fancy mixed soda drink or something on the more alcoholic side. Alcohol is served to 16 or older (unless a different/older age is specified), and comes with a cut off should one character come back too many times. Don't try to ruin anyone's fun times with being drunk, booze hounds. (Gale will also encourage people to visit Ayame's food stall for a great pair up with any drinks.)

She won't likely sell any drinks here, and redirect all that to Gale's booth because gotta help each other out yo. A lot of these snacks are good to pair with alcohol, too.

She just wants to have a little fun.

There are a few games to choose from and the goal is to beat Chiaki's score on anyone to win a prize of Pokemon plushies Chiaki had especially made for her Arcade business. People who don't win will still get Pokemon food if they have Pokemon of course or a Level Up! Keychain.

Booth They Want to Run: Light Up A Dream. Rapunzel will be selling various foods and objects she has made for her tavern as well as trying to help people live there dreams by simply having the person fill out a form which Rapunzel will at some point get to, hopefully on the day if it's a simple and easy one or for a long period if much bigger.

Booth They Want to Run: Fashion Show. Kaoru will be showing off his work for those that volunteered. Might also offer to help with fashion advice or even commissions if people like his work.

Booth They Want to Run: A signing/photo booth for people to get to meet their favourite celebrities (full-blown or up-and-coming) and for the celebs to get to meet their loving fanbase. How each celebrity wants to work this is up to them but Kyoya will insist there will be a small charge for prints/photos/autographs which will be split between the celeb and the agency.

People will be writing their wishes on paper and then Shi will fold them into origami cranes, string them together, and hang them at the shrine later. There will also be voting for “Orihime” and “Hiroboshi,” and the selected winners will get a blind date/vacation prize of some sort.
Shi will also be absorbing curses for people in an attempt to gain followers.

Crew swag will also be available for purchase: Water bottles, t-shirts (M/F/kids), tank tops (M/F/kids) and crop tops (F only) will be available in black, blue or white emblazoned with the Jolly Eddy's logo. Free pens and stress balls with contact information will be offered to all visitors. Also they have several attractive people in the crew who will be donning tight muscle shirts. Selfies with crewmembers are encouraged.

Booth They Want to Run: Ring toss game. Your typical carnival ring toss game, pretty much. Players throw plastic rings and try to hook them over pegs and the necks of glass bottles to win prizes- mostly plushies of various sizes; the more difficult the target is to get the ring on the better the prize you get, though one can also trade in several smaller prizes for a bigger one if they want. One round costs one redbill and gets you three rings.

The Staircase

A loopy loop water slide; The Doctor (and Trunks) will assemble on the ground and Albus will use magic to levitate into place.

Also! Some parts of the water will move; like Hogwarts moving staircase; don't worry no one will fall - and Trunks will be around just in case. (He can fly)

The moving parts will be the full tube parts.

Fama Agency booth

EDIT: Have submitted the sign-up form for the Fama Agency booth. I won't run sign-ups or anything for the celeb involvement, basically if a character wants in then they can have a time-slot and we can handwave that Kyoya asked them/their agent (as much as Kyoya ever actually asks anything)


Throwing this on here since I don't have all Fama people on Plurk but would any of the Fama talents be down for like a signing booth or something along those lines? I'd like to have it as something Kyoya sets up as a show to the agency of how he is with events but figured I'd throw this down as a suggestion first to see if anyone wants to have their celebs/up-and-comings take part.

Zero at the Spooky Haunted House

So, Zero is going to end up being one of the "monsters" inside the Haunted House of Mirrors, because hey, what is scarier than a giant, floating eyeball with wings? He's also pretty down to it because striking fear into the hearts of other beings with impunity is too good of an opportunity to pass.

He'll be freaking out visitors by doing the following:

=Just generally being creppy by simply floating there because really he doesn't need to make an effort
=Shedding blood tears because it's a thing he can do
=Pretending to be an angelic being and turning into what he truly is (for reference, his angelic form looks like this, and when he transforms his mouth turns into his eye because that's not freaky at all)
=He can also create Dark Matter, which are these fellows. They are pretty much beings made of pure darkness, not much bigger than a basketball, and have the ability to possess people (they won't be possessing anyone in the Haunted House though, they are only there to make things extra scary, also Zero isn't strong enough to make Dark Matter that can do that just yet)

So, if you are looking forward to see Zero's true potential for being a freaky and scary thing, the Haunted House of Mirrors is the place to be! Also the mirrors will not help because is that the REAL Zero or just his reflection? WHO KNOWS!

I suppose I don't mind him doing this, but is he going to be asking for a position officially or is he just doing this on his own? If it's the latter, then he may wind up at some point being asked to leave, since it's just a campy carnival ride. Don't make people piss themselves pls -- but this would happen especially if people actually get hurt.

If it's the former, we can handwave him asking Azura, but it might be a good idea to discuss how that conversation goes at least.

First of all, ah, I'm sorry! Didn't want it to sound like I was "stepping over" you who's, you know, organizing the whole thing! I got a little carried away X_X

With that said, while I wouldn't put it past him to just, you know, place himself inside the Haunted House because he could feel the vibe of scared people inside and just gravitate towards that, I think it would be far more interesting if he were "hired" to work on the haunted house because "hey, he's kinda freaky, that will work" but it turns out he's a little too freaky and Azura can go "Well, mistakes were made. Who's going to tell the giant eyeball he's fired?"

No worries, I'm not offended or anything, I just wanted to make sure I had everything straight on my end. Half the fun of an event like this is having other players getting involved and making the fairly simple concept more intricate with their own additions. You put a lot of thought into this so I'm definitely not saying no.

She can TOTALLY hire him on—if you don't think he'd approach her over her recent post, we can say he happened by the building site and he was hired on there after interest was expressed? I don't know much about the character to say what would be the most IC way for us to go about it.

He also definitely doesn't HAVE to be fired, unless that's what you want to play with.
