Halloween Event

It’s the time of the year again, that time where Halloween is upon us. Where people indulge in spooky and scary things, gorge themselves on candy. Dress up in costumes and display themselves as something different than they normally are. Yes, it’s a season that many enjoy, but perhaps not everyone.

Genessia is no stranger to Halloween in the slightest. And this year, the Holiday will be celebrated again.. Starting from October 13 to October 20th, all of Genessia will take part in the spectacle that is Halloween. However, unlike other years, each city will have a different type of way of celebrating it.

What do you mean each city will have a different way of celebrating Halloween?

Something different will happen in each city. The cities will be effected for the duration of the event.

My character wants to sit this out. Can they?

Yes and no. You can't really avoid some of the things in this event. They can just stick around in one city to avoid the things in other cities, though.

Can my character hideout in a Sub-Archway to avoid it all?

The effects of every city will also expand to the Sub-Archways in the city as well. It doesn’t matter who they are or what the Sub-Archway is.

Genessia City is the center of all of Genessia. For Halloween, Genessia City will be subjected to monster attacks after the stroke of Midnight.

So Monsters will come into my character's home?

No. Monsters in Genessia City will never enter anyones home. If they try to step inside of a person's home, it will be like they are hitting an invisible barrier. No matter what, a person's home is a safe haven.

But my characters home has a hole in it for some reason! Can they still not get in?

No, nothing at all can help them pass into the home. Even if for some reason someone places them inside of a person's home, the monster will suddenly vanish as if it was never there.

What monsters will be attacking?

Mindless zombies, feral werewolves, blood thirsty vampires, mummies, ect. Many traditional Halloween and non-traditional Halloween monsters. However there won’t be any huge or looming building sized monsters roaming around the city.

Can my character make a monster attack someone?

No, the monsters can’t be commanded to attack anyone, regardless of a person’s abilities. The monsters can be made to stop attacking. And whatever command that was used to do this will wear off after some time and possibly have to be reapplied.

So what happens during the day? Do the Monsters just crawl into sewers, abandoned houses, trees and so forth and wait for nightfall?

No, as soon as the sun rises, no matter what the monsters were doing or where they are, they will disappear. Again, it will be like they were never there.

So can my character fight against and kill the monsters?

Yes they can. Killing a monster will cause it to turn to dust and disappear, regardless of what they are.

Can my character talk the monster out of attacking?

The monsters can’t really be reasoned with. If they see you, then they will come at you. Your best bet is to get to safety.







In Everglade, every structure in the city will become made out of delicious candy. From houses, to furniture, to street lamps, everything will be made of candy.

Seriously. Everything is made of candy?

Yep. Everything is made of candy.

So can my character eat it?

Yep. Your character can eat as much as they like. But they might get a tummy ache if they eat too much!

What would happen if my character ate the support beams of a house? Would it collapse?

Nope. The candy will regenerate itself. So try as anyone might, they won’t be able to eat an entire house.






Walking into Nova City will get your character in touch with their Monstrous side.When they step into Nova City, they will be cursed to become a monster!

Will my character know they have been cursed?

That depends on what monster they become, as some are more obvious than others.

So my character has no choice but to be a monster if they go to Nova City?

Only for the first day. If your character happens to be in or pass into Nova City on the first day of the event, they will find themselves cursed to be a monster for the event’s duration.

Is there anyway for them to know that they might be changed?

Anyone approaching the Archway leading to Nova City on the first day will receive a warning on their device before actually stepping through the archway. There will be no information as to why a warning is being issued and they will only recieve one. Your character can choose to ignore it and go through if you want.

What monster forms can my character take on?

Anything from the list below:

This is the pre-approved list of monster forms that are acceptable in this event. No other monster forms will be added to the list.

This seems like an event we’ve done before. Is it?

Yes! Just last year we had a Halloween event that was just this. (http://genessia-ooc.dreamwidth.org/311696.html) Please check the link for more details, as mostly everything still applies to this event.

So will the mods pick my character’s monster form this time around?

Nope. This time around you get to pick what monster your character changes into. Anything on the list above is mod approved.

Will my characters remain cursed once they leave Nova City?

Yes, once cursed, your character can’t get uncursed until the event is finally over.

Does my character HAVE to be cursed if they go into Nova City?

Yes. If your character enters Nova City on the first day of the plot, then they will become cursed. If they go into it on any other day after the first day, they don't have to be. If you really don't want your Character cursed from going there, find somewhere else for them to be for the first day.

On a different note, base none powered humans can use their curse as a way to help out in Genessia City at night if they so desire.





Going into Attleton during this event won’t be for everyone. Stepping into the city, your characters can suddenly find themselves confronted with their fears with them given physical form.

Can everyone see them or will everyone think my character is crazy?

Everyone can see whatever your character’s fear happens to be.

Can my character fight against their fear?

Yes they can. They can fight it and overcome it if you want. If it is no longer their fear, it has no reason to exist. If their fear is a violent sort of thing, it may even attack them or anyone near them.

What if my character's fear is a big Godzilla sized monster?

It will be scaled down to a more manageable size.

Will their fears follow them everywhere?

It will follow them everywhere in Attleton except inside of a house or other building. Like the things that attack Genessia City at night, they can’t enter a place like that. In fact they will disappear completely once your character is inside of a home.

This seems like an event we’ve done before. Is it?

Genessia has had an event like this before, yes. In 2014 there was a fear event that struck Fayren (http://genessia-ooc.dreamwidth.org/196553.html)

What do I do if someone posts something or an image that triggers a real life phobia of mine?

Contact the mod and let us know and we will contact the player. However, be sure to place anything that can be seen as triggery behind a cut and make sure to post a warning label on your post if you are going to do a post with a heavy influence of phobia triggering stuff.

Does my character HAVE to experience their fears if they go into Attleton?

At most, a character has between their first few moments in Attleton to 5 minutes before they start experiencing their fears. That time will be random though, so there will be no way of a character knowing just how much time they have before it starts.






Stepping into Fayren, your characters will be helped in getting into the Halloween spirit. Once inside of Fayren, they will find their clothes gone. And in place of them, they will find themselves in a costume!

So they can be dressed up in any costume?

Yep. They might not even notice it at first.

Do I get to pick what they wear?

Yes. They can have a different costume every single day of the event. It doesn’t have to be anything they would normally wear, it can be as strange or weird as you want it to be.

Can they be put in a sexy costume?

Yes, but not anything overly sexy. Nothing that amounts to skimpy underwear or anything like that.

What happens to their old clothes?

This is your choice. They can either be gone or they can be folded up in their house on their bed. It’s your choice.

Can my character buy new clothes in Fayren and change?

They can buy new clothes and get changed if they want to. But as soon as they walk out into the city once more, their clothes will change to whatever costume they had been in.

My character lives in Fayren. Will this hit them as well?

Yes. If your character lives in or visits Fayren, they will suddenly find themselves in a random costume. No questions asked.

Does the costume affect my character in any way?

Characters can be affected by the costume. Such as if your character is wearing a maid costume, it might give them the impulse to clean. If they are in a Knights costume, it may give them the impulse to be chivalrous. This is completely up to the player's discretion if they want this type of effect done to their characters.

What happens if my characters leave Fayren?

They will still find themselves in the costume that was just put on them. But they are completely free to change once out of the city.

Nova City: If my character can transform into monsters normally, would they be stuck in a specific form if they're transformed by the event?

Attleton: If my character's greatest fear is of their family dying, would they be followed around by the corpse of said family member for the event's duration? What if my character's greatest fear is simply being all alone? How would that even manifest?

Fayren: If you wanted to have your character dressed as a succubus and happened to pass by Nova City and was turned into a succubus, would the costume even be relevant at that point? Would they be a succubus wearing a succubus costume? Could you do something silly like having a Centaur that is dressed like a werewolf and howls at the moon?

Genessia City: How tough are these monsters? Do they take just a touch to destroy, or can they take a beating? Do you need to hit them with enough force to kill something of its size? How much harm can they cause? Can they kill characters, or maim them?

Event stuff that I already posted on Plurk, but I'll toss it here as well.

David (rulerofme) – Gonna be defending Genessia City because he’s the Guardian and all. He’ll be tossing up a post around noon on Friday setting up a defense and coordinating with his deputies to handle the monsters at night time.

Sun (monkeystowaway) – Lives in Nova City and work in Fayren. He was a vampire last time so this time he will be a Fairy with pretty little wings. He’ll probably end up in some costumes as well. He’ll help with the Genessia City defense at night.

Ryo (kyoken) – Back in Nova City. He was a Wereterrier last time, he’ll be a Merman this time.

Yashiro (dominantprince) – Lives and works in Nova City. I’ll be a Werecat for this event.

Johnny (burnswithawesome) – Lives in Nova City. He’ll be a Vampire this time around and he’ll help to defend Genessia City at night.

This event is perfect. Karla can be out in Genessia City at night slaying some of the monsters. It's her job. XD

As for my dragons (Liora and Qubine), they live in Fayren, but I really want them to experience the Attleton portion of the event. Qubine's biggest fear is losing the love of his life, Shayla. And given that the dead dragons in his clan are literally running around and attacking everything, he'd be seeing a zombie!Shayla.

For Liora, her biggest fear is her nemesis, Erebus. He's got an entity on his side known as the Shade, which is like black tentacles that spread out, sucking the life energy out of everything.

Afterwards, both dragons could retreat to Genessia City to help battle monsters. Qubine will definitely want to take his rage out on the zombies...

Eleanor Guthrie lives in Fayren and will host costume parties on her bar ship. She enjoys her free fancy costumes and is having the time of her life.

Mikaela Banes is probably still staying in Commonspace/Genessia by event week. She gets caught up in Nova mayhem while apartment hunting and becomes a badass gargoyle. Maybe monster hunting?

Cassian Andor also gets caught up in Nova mayhem and ends up an incubus. That's the least of his worries. He has to spend the entire week out and about in Attleton, being Guardian, and will be bombarded by his fears while trying to keep order in his town. His most striking fear is Attleton under Imperial control - Stormtroopers, Imperial flags, him becoming a hunted man in his sanctuary. While he will encounter other fears at times such as his darker self or a shot-up Kay accusing him of having murdered him, Imperial!Attleton is the one that stays with him the entire week.

I know I already posted this in my Plurk. But considering it's private, I decided to share what I said there to everyone in this post.

So for Tony Clark might be in Genessia the whole month, which means he's stuck on monster fighting until the event ends. Though to be fair, he loves the fighting part since being a spy gives him many advantages and loves to beat down bad guys until halfway the event.

As for Ryder Clayton/Den, he will end up in different costumes in Fayren, so expect him wearing some random ones in his upcoming log. As for the said costumes, I may try to dress him up as a knight, a dragon, and a cookie (I did say it will be random).

Lastly, Professor Sycamore will not be lucky this month. Problem is I wonder if he ends up being attacked by monsters in Genessia or end up as a monster when visiting Nova City. I might update with a new Plurk to finalize my decision with Sycamore for the event. But if you want to help me out, I'm open to your suggestions on what will I choose.

Erza's usually in Fayren, so she'll wind up in quite a few costumes. There's plenty of canon material to work with, both based on Halloween and costumes in general.

Erza will probably visit Everglade as soon as she hears that everything's made entirely out of candy, and that will prompt her to visit other areas. This will take a turn for the worse when she visits Attleton, as she'll be chased by four of the strongest opponents that she's faced, either one at a time, in groups, or all together. (fair warning - that last one in particular is spoiler-rific, as it covers material that isn't in the anime yet)

Dray: He's going to be in Everglade and stuff himself with candy because he has no impulse control whatsoever. Plus, yooo, it's free candy. Even if he ends with a stomach ache he will think it was 150% worthy.

Scott: One the first day he's going to visit Nova City because of course he would with his luck, and end turned into the most clueless Incubus. He will have no idea why he's always tired, why he can't sleep at night properly but he can enterpeople's dreams, and why food doesn't satiate him at all. Basically, Scott's going to fail so hard at this incubus thing. Because he will think he's just a regular demon and he does not want to hurt people, like the demons in his world, do. But he's also starving and food doesn't help and ey, suddenly everyone looks *so fine* Someone, please enlighten him about what kind of demon he is.

Scott will have small bat-like wings, a pointy tail and probably horns too. Here is a sketch and here there's a picture that is more on the nsfw-side. He will be wearing pants, promise.

Kay: He lives in Attleton and the 'deepest fear' curse will have its effect. Since Kay's deepest fear is himself, there will be a second K-2So walking around with red eyes and trying to murder people because he has his Imperial protocol reactivated. Normal!Kay will have to see the other K-2SO kill Cassian over and over and over. Yay.

Gale lives in Nova City so he'll be cursed immediately. He won the creature roulette again and is an incubus just as he was last year shhh it's because I love the concept so much. Running night clubs is a wonderful thing when you're an incubus and you can absorb stamina through physical interaction. And there's enough people to be able to do it without tiring or harming one person! Hooray! Otherwise, Gale will be in and out of Genessia City and Everglade solely for his businesse. He won't go to Fayren or Attleton unless he has a reason to. He's available for dreamwalking trolling if anyone wants that.

Mobius is in Attleton, so the poor boy will be hit with fears. Most of his fears stem from the idea of losing his friends and companions from home, so... random... dead allies will be strewn around and/or shambling after him. Maybe his dead dad will show up, who knows. This may cause him to retreat from Attleton entirely. He may end up a harpy or a different monster if he ends up in Nova at any point.

Alucard will be in Genessia City at night to help fend off monsters. And for once he can't blame his dad for it.

Tanya, the new girl here, may go to every city at least once purely out of her own curiosity when she realizes different things are happening. She'll be out at night in Genessia City for monster hunting (her specialty!), may come out of Nova a succubus or vampire, get some sweet outfits from Fayren, and maaaybe snag a snack from Everglade here and there. I'm stumped on Attleton for her right now because she doesn't really... have much to fear. Maybe something to do with her brother, not sure.

Yukiko I'm either going to have her stay in a princess costume and add a rule to Fayren that is dumb or something or have her change into a different costume a day. I have yet to decide which it will be.

Fai He will be in most cities because he has pretty much shit in each of them, however, his focus will be on Nova City and Genessia so Vampire!Fai will once again be a thing he has to deal with in a different way. Will also be dealing with the monsters as well.

Chiaki She will be confronting a major fear that... I can't really go into detail here since I can't exactly put it under a cut if I needed to. However it is a major fear and will be something I will put under a cut when I do a post just in case. But it will be an experience that will probably screw her up a lot if no one helps her.

Icy Icy will be in Attleton at least at the beginning and people will be free to see her fear of... cute stuff. She legit hates anything cute, sweet and good.

Krista I decided for Krista that she will become something. My first thought would be a succubus but might change that. Not 100% sure yet.

Haru Will either be a ghost or something else I am not sure. Ghost would be hilarious but so can other things because she probably would just try and scare people regardless.

Rapunzel Kicking ass with a Frying Pan and her hair in Genessia and I might have her grab some sweets to make stuff with maybe. Might do something else, but unsure as to what yet.

Selina Will just be watching Genessia from her place and just being amused, might also write the story of it happening down even though there is no point.

Anastasia lives in Nova City, so she will most likely be transformed into a tiny fairy again. She's gonna need a set of clothes for her new size, so she'll be looking for tailors to help her out. Chances are she might also go to Genessia to tame a cat mount.

Eleanor will be in Genessia, trying to protect citizens from the monsters. She might need a hero of her own when things get overwhelming.

Kunzite will be in Genessia somewhere. He may mistake anyone coming from Nova City to be a hostile.

Junpei will most likely be in Attleton, cornered by a fear probably involving his father, friends or himself.

Konoka here is going to become a succubus on the first day, though she might not be fully aware of her monsterdom. Previous CR should be warned that she will tease them even more than she already does, and everyone else will likely be exposed to (dubiously unintentional) double entendres out the wazoo.

She is open to dream walking! She'll try it a couple of times on people, though if she encounters something frightening without previous preparation she won't do it again (she might see if she can help someone defeat a bad dream if she's previously prepared, however).

She will be helping Genessia out with her defensive charms at request, and protecting her shop at Everglade from hungry candy eaters likely including her own Pokemon whoops

Because she's from an Akamatsu series Konoka will enjoy getting a free costume every day, and she's going to be running with a theme :3

She will avoid Attleton, but on the off chance she wanders in there her greatest fear is likely her powers not working on her friends, so uh, enjoy Setsuna/Negi corpses bleeding out or something.

Current plans, but still not final:

On the first night, Ayame would be exposed to her fears in Attleton, since that's where she lives. Her fears is her past enemy named Dezara, a primordial inter-dimensional entity that almost ended her life and poisoned her mind along with her fear of losing her powers entirely. Coupled with illusions of her dead friends (from her homeworld). Needless to say, she'll be pretty shaken by this. Others are welcome to see her fears, but there's not gonna be any fighting it as she'll run away to Genessia and stay in her tailor shop for the rest of the event. Please let me know if you're interested in doing this scene, and we can plot it up! This is a pretty big thing for her character development.

The encounter would put her in a state where she'll don her old combat gear again, and help fight the monsters in Genessia that appear at night. Her powers would be nerfed from her encounter in Attleton, so she can be on equal footing with many of the player characters. If you want your character to fight alongside her, this would be the time to let me know. She'll be doing so with Winter, Marc, and Satsuki on different nights. But I'm open to a bit more action threads with other characters.

I don't think I'll be sending Ayame to Fayren or Everglade? She loves costumes and candy, and would feel a little better (just a little, she's gonna be pretty shaken up) with those things but she's going to need some convincing if anybody wants her there (please convince her). But she'll be closing Atelier Sakura for the entire duration of the event and just work on her tailor shop in Genessia, so anybody with tailoring needs for the event are welcome to come to her. She'll be making them for free (or with a discount if you're a stranger). She'll be talking and checking up on people via the coms, so there's that option too if you want to do something but can't have our characters meet in person.

Lastly, she'll be facing her fears at the end of the event. She'll work up the courage to overcome her fear and face the illusion of her old enemy and defeat it, regaining her powers.

Tenth Doctor - will be fighting for mental control of himself against the wild werewolf brain; if he's able too - will help those in Genessia run from the monsters.

Shinjiro - is primarily going to be hanging around Genessia City with Akihiko (as discussed with his mun) fighting monsters. I'm happy for people to run into him.

He'll also be willing to help people fighting their fears in Attleton - when he goes there, a crazed version of his new Persona will show up, threatening to attack and kill people - but he'll just one-shot it with his real Persona, and tell the illusion he'll worry about that if it ever even happens, thank you. That will be over in about five minutes, if even that, haha.

Dorothy as she's living in Fayren will be stuck in a new costume every day. I'm still brainstorming this!

She's also going to see someone's post about their fear in Attleton (likely Kay) and go to help - only to be chased around by her own fear. It'll be a mini-Megadeus (shrunk down to bus-size) which will still terrify the daylights out of her, as it'll act like it's insane and that it wants to steal her Memories.

If anyone else has ideas about these guys, or will want to interact with monster bashing / running from a smaller-but-still-giant robot, please let me know!

47's gonna be sniping monsters that bother people once he knows of them (so from the second night onward). I'd rather not have him get caught at this point in time, though, especially since he's not really doing anything wrong, but feel free to have any monsters bothering your characters mysteriously get shot out of "nowhere". (You investigator types can keep the bullets to try and catch him at a later point in time, if you want. You might want to let them cool a bit first, though.)

I'm also up for him fighting monsters up close and personal if you want to do something with that. (I kind of want to have him kill a giant werewolf with his bare hands, that'd be fun.)

I'm also going to do costume shenanigans in Fayren, but I haven't decided what kind of costume yet.

Admittedly not really feeling it on the transformation for Everglade (It's a hilarious flip for the setting, but it's just not doing anything for my inspiration.).

Thus! I'm sending Milton either to Nova City, where he may get transformer into a bird-thing (not something cool like a raven, but probably something goofy, like a potoo). Or he may stumble into Attleton, where he's likely to stumble into the clone of some creepy cult leader. Or I might go easy on him and send him to Fayren, just for chuckles, though I'm still scratching my head for costume ideas.

For my girls, Hikaru is going to be transformed into a fairy when she's in Nova City and she's going to figure out something so that her hair doesn't stick to the candy that's going to be everywhere. She might just decide to use her newfound wings and just hover in the air. The transformation won't extend to her Protector form, though, since that's already rather powerful. I might have her visit Attleton where people can be introduced to the Supreme Ruler with a bunch of Geo-Gnocems as well as some Generals and Leaders that she's faced. Here's a write-up I did for the Gnocem. She won't be traveling to Fayren, though.

Sertoria will help fight things in Genessia City. She might be following Mercy into Fayren, depending on how things are in Genessia. She won't be traveling to Nova City all too much, but when she does, she'll be transformed into a ghost or fairy. She's...not too interested in Everglade, but might just observe what's going there and see if she can lend a hand.

Selene (mercifulblades) will be introduced during this event! She'll be hunting down monsters in Genessia City and will most likely be staying there. While she can stab herself for more bullets, it only produces five per time she stabs herself. She'll figure out eventually that these beasts aren't the same ones from home, so she won't have to worry about infusing her bullets with her own blood. Who wants to team up with her to slay some creatures of the night?
