SPEAKING OF OBNOXIOUS FAIRIES, GUESS WHAT TIME IT IS? It's time for...


"Maaaaaaaaagic!

That's right, the votes are in, and we'll be seeing a Fairy Tale Takeover event for the month of January. This particular event will run from the 8th through the 14th. So what happens, exactly?

Well, imagine if the realm of Fayren suddenly spilled into Genessia City. Street lamps are now lit by hand, cars are replaced by horse drawn carriages, and the strip mall is now ye olde marketplace. But it's not just the city itself that's affected. No no!

You guys get a heaping dose of fairy tale maaaaaaaaaaaagic as well. Characters may take on new roles featured in storybooks, or be transformed into fairy tale creatures. Note that this is optional: you can absolutely play the straight man in this scenario if you so choose and not transform at all, just soaking in the crazy and rolling with it. You also don't have to be affected by the transformation for the full week! You can be a prince for a day, a unicorn for the next, a chopped down tree for the day after that... You get the picture. Characters may be fully aware that this is not normal (and it is also stupid), or they may become so fully engrossed in the role that they can't ever imagine being otherwise. It's up to you! Take liberties! Have fun!

Feel free to use this post for plotting purposes. If you want to play out a fractured fairy tale, do it.

Once the event week is up, the city's weird trappings will melt back to normal and all of the effects will wear off as well. But we'll still have our shenanigans and memories.

BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE

So, a few of you guys have asked us if there's more going on in this wacky, mixed up world we've created than meets the eye. The answer, of course, is absolutely and this month characters will get a glimpse of a larger threat facing them and the city.

Starting on the 18th, SOMETHING will emerge in the city and a call will go out for brave heroes/zeroes to drive the threat off. This event will involve combat but non-combat oriented characters are welcome to join in as well either to get in over their heads and get their butts rescued or just maybe manage to hold their own.

This is just the beginning, folks.

Captain Hammer will be piloting his HamJet for team members and other interested parties. And maybe recklessly turning over the piloting of said HamJet to someone without giving them any prior warning.

Orihime will also be on hand for healing.

Ice King's a little tougher because the dude practically IS a fantasy creature as it stands.

These ideas are all super tentative, and apt to change on a whim, especially if anyone has a certain idea they want to try or a fairy tale to play out.

Captain Hammer: That's King Captain Hammer to you.
Cherise Thompson: She's already a sorceress, so she might be perfectly at home with this sort of thing. Or, a dirty peasant with no magical ability, which she'll hate.
Harpuia: He puts on his robe and wizard hat. He will also have an ill-fitting bushy white beard and a little wand with a glittery star on the end.
Jim Kirk: Not too sure for him. All I know is that he'll be dead of laughter if he knows Dean is going to be a unicorn. He may just be a straight man for this.
Lust: Either she'll be a straight man, or she'll be a wicked stepmother fully engrossed in the role. Perhaps both.
Orihime Inoue: Either a princess or some sort of weird role reversal, like swinging around on vines that hang out of nowhere being all Robin Hoody.
Raye Hino: A dwarf. She'd like to be a princess too, but she can also wind up being a mythical critter, like a phoenix. Open to suggestions for her.
Yang Xiao Long: Dependent on Bison. Whatever he gets, she'll follow suit. Otherwise she'll be a brainwashed straight man too.

Hmmm, well, Betelgeuse is already a ghost. Somehow I keep seeing him as Rumplestiltskin here, except he doesn't want your kid. Raise your brat yourself, loser! LOL I really need to give this more thought. But, he's available for plottings!
