Nathaniel Dorns (OC)

So. Someone among you is a terrible, terrible, *horrible* enabler. I'm sure they know who they are, and are feeling properly bad about themselves. 8|

Anyway. My name is Kevin, and I am bringing you two new characters! First - this OC over here, Nathaniel Dorns! He's something of a king back home, and he acts like it. Manipulative, ambitious, power hungry - he'll take anything you give him and use it to his advantage, twist everything around................ in other words, he's really fun to play.

Don't get me wrong, though, he can be a decent human being - he's ambitious, not evil, and while he pushes at boundaries he makes it a point to never cross a line. He might manipulate you into selling him your left kidney, but he'll never so much as steal a fry off your plate if you don't want him to! (And sometimes, rarely, he'll actually leave you better off for meeting him. There's someone here who's much more familiar with his good side than most, in fact… even though that CR is off limits - because lol non canon of course.......... The memories totally had nothing to do with me bringing him here, though. Nope.

The other, more famous character I'm bringing you is Ruby Lucas, from Once Upon a Time. Waitress, bar tender, werewolf - super powered. fairy tail girl also known as Little Red Riding Hood........... All around, a good person to have by your side! She's getting just a little tired of being kidnapped to new worlds, though. :/

PS: I'm dragon8writer on AIM and plurk!

This poll comes a little earlier in the month, because why not. We've got two polls for people to answer! The first concerns the character cap, as I've had two players (who are not me, I swear) approach me about it. To me, eight characters is a LOT, especially when you should be active with all of them before taking on more! But part of the thing I wanted to do with Genessia was allow people to get in and play, without having to worry about activity checks and counting comments. After all, if someone isn't active with a character, someone else can come along and apply for them, no big deal. It's happened a few times already!

However, this is my personal concern: if the character limit is raised or eliminated, people have a tendency to play nothing but reactionary protagonists, and that can quickly choke a game by making it super slice-of-life, and promoting dependency on the mods alone to provide any sort of conflict. I can tell you right now I would not be able to keep up conflict plots and events for a big swarm of good guys without getting burned out very quickly!

As such, one of the options (the one I'm heavily favoring for that matter) is that if you want to play more than eight characters, at least 25% of them should be active antagonists providing conflict for the masses. Genessia's setting does favor villains, especially with characters like Moriarty wanting to lend a hand to give bad guys access to home worlds and henchmen. The mods are also very willing to work with you if your antagonizer needs some help setting up plots and situations.

Nonetheless, this is a game I want to share with my friends (even though ruling with an iron fist is a heap of fun), so please cast your vote as to what you'd prefer.

The second poll question concerns June's event. Yes, yes, May's event is still in full swing, and this may be premature, but you've got a lazy mod who wanted to post all the polls at once. S'how it goes.

Notice that there are no options for 'do not care'. If you don't care, don't vote! That's totally fine!

Questions and comments? Do it!

Mid-Boss
13 May 2014 @ 07:04 pm
Hi there! I'm Amy and I've been terribly enabled by a certain troublesome son and love freak I'm here to bring you this flouncy chap here: Vyers from Disgaea: Hour of Darkness (but please feel free to call him Midboss, he loves that nickname).

He's a beauty-obsessed, melodramatic narcissist who can be rather difficult to take seriously most of the time, but behind that he's a noble demon who's more intelligent than he looks probably.

Nice to meet you all :)

Ken Amada
13 May 2014 @ 10:43 pm
Hello, folks! I'm Letty and I'm brand new here - you guys can blame Chas for enabling me. I'll be playing Ken Amada from Persona 3.

I know the rest of the P3 cast in the game is from before the game itself takes place. I'm taking Ken from....postgame. Basically immediate postgame. He'll be struggling to deal with loss and grief - plus the other issues he'd been putting off - as he arrives. This kid has not had it easy, so if you like your children on the traumatized side... As a side note, I'm taking him from the male protagonist's path.

In a nutshell, Ken's an eleven-year-old boy who has seen way too much. He's fought monsters, watched people die, and helped save the world. He's mature for his age and wants to be treated as an adult, but hitting the right buttons will get him to act his age. He's represented by the Justice arcana, so - predictably - he has a very strong sense of right and wrong. Just try not to be too bothered by the fact he can easily put a gun-like object to his head and pull the trigger.

It's nice to meet you all! You can add me on plurk at [plurk.com profile] SilverStilletto  if you like, and my AIM is thisdreamishappy, you can usually catch me there. Sometimes I'll be on Skype at truthandtimetogether, too.
