Hey everyone! The mods have been thinking and we were trying to figure out how to make this game more fun for everyone with a couple of simple policy adjustments to two things. As you might've guessed by the fact that I'm not posting this from the mod journal, we won't change anything without talking to you guys first, so go ahead and peek down in this cut for some information and a poll!

Okay, so there are two things we were thinking about. One is the City Guardian positions. Since we're a fairly large game and there are only 5 positions available, we figured it would be more fun to give everyone an equal chance and not force characters into playing the role for a long-term if their players don't want to, but it would be IC for them to continue trying. It will also open up the floor to new players instead of locking it down to characters who won the elections a long time ago. If you guys like this idea, the election floor will open up again in June, which should mean that most people are out of school for summer (hopefully!) and able to be active participants in it too.

The second thing is the bounty system. While it's been working fairly well, we feel like given the number of fighter characters in the game it would be better if we made it easier to complete bounties. The current system means that you have to type up a log for every single one and given the weekly newspaper posts, if your character is the type of person who makes money off of them, that amounts to writing a lot of time-consuming logs. Since this game has a lot of people with busy lives, we don't want to force you to choose between being IC and neglecting your work/school/other RL situations you need to deal with. There are a few different options listed in the poll. However, please bear in mind that any "Yes" answer for the bounties will result in a limit of 1 bounty per character per newspaper release. These would all make it much easier to do bounties and we just want to make sure that one single character isn't knocking out every single bounty each paper for the sake of fairness.

CITY GUARDIANS: Should City Guardian positions have election cycles?

Yes. Every 6 months.
