It really just follows along the various story arcs with random wordspluge for dialogue, and the ability to fight way too many Generic Stamina Eating Monsters(tm). Like the 'major' bad guy who only lasted the first 2 eps? He's a recruitable team-mate for battles. You really aren't missing anything.
