Everglade Charm Quest - August 2019

On the morning of August 15th, each character who lives in or passes through the gates of Everglade will be visited by a free-floating specter! He hovers before them, grinning with what few teeth remain, and offers them a train ticket. "All aboard?" is his only offer. If the ticket is accepted, he grins, and fades out of sight. The ticket itself is old and yellow, and shows one purchase of fare aboard the Doom Train. It seems foolish to entertain the idea of boarding a freaking DOOM TRAIN, but who knows? Maybe your character is bored, or curious. Or maybe they noticed that there's a charm symbol embossed in the corner of the ticket. The train is said to depart on a free one-way trip lasting three days on August 18th, so there's time to think it over, and get everything needed to pack one's suitcase.


WHO: Only twenty characters can sign up for this event, so please don't submit more than one character per player. This is a first-come first-served event, so only the first twenty will be considered! You can submit back-up/reserve characters (no more than one extra per player), just in case fewer than twenty sign up.

WHAT: There will be three challenge events, one per day, where each character will have to perform some task in order to stay on the train. Those who fail will be thrown off! You'll have three OOC days to post your character fulfilling the task. At the end of those three days, five characters will be thrown off the train (either by failing to respond (first), or selected at random (second)), gradually whittling down the remaining passengers until only five remain. Those five will be eligible to win a charm if they manage to see the rest of the event through to the end.

If there's at least one successful completion of the event by a character, this will unlock a new area of Everglade that can later be explored and may even come in handy. Stay tuned!

WARNING: As you might have guessed by the very title, the five who make it through to the end may experience something very unpleasant, or even die. There won't be any in-game penalties for this (no lost memories, etc.), but if that's not something you want your character to experience, do not sign up! This won't be a fun ride!
