Masquerade Interest Post
UPDATE: October 22
Hey all! Tori here. Just wanted to add some updates for everyone, and will continue to add hints as they're decided!
-The masquerade is FREE to EVERYONE, but there will be opportunities for donations and auctions. Proceeds will be going to Red House Foundation (run by our very own Grell)! Woo!
-It is a formal event, so go all out!
-yes, there will be multiple prompts for everyone and a wide range of activities/locations
-all ages welcome!
-the masquerade will take place in the ritziest hotel in Genessia, in a rooftop ballroom. As there aren't really any set in stone hotels on the settings page, we're handwaving particulars on the location, but it's in Genessia City and it's extremely high end. Ha!
-if anyone would like your character to be part of something in particular, please let me know and I'll work it into the post! Would they like to serve drinks? Are they one of the musicians? Perhaps they're not attending, but have been hired to work the party instead? It's all flexible.

Just wanted to get this posted as a preliminary interest post for the masquerade. The original plurk post seemed to have a lot of excited people interested in the idea, but as I’m not really on plurk much these days and this seemed like it would be a little more official, here it is.
Originally we had planned to have this masquerade/gala happen in conjunction with the Phantom of the Opera performance, but as it’s more or less something of a personal plot, we decided to (for the most part) separate the two. Instead of happening the same evening, we’re thinking the Masquerade will be held the week prior to the performance, almost as advertising (maybe?), but really just as a big fancy excuse for all our Genessians to wear tuxedos and ballgowns and be ritzy for the evening. If your character isn’t interested in Phantom, this will give them an excuse to attend and avoid the play entirely.
So far the running list of desires is as follows:
-hors d'oeuvres and coctails/wine
-dancing
-fancy music (live band) Nohr fam??
-photo ops
-entertainment (??)
-Someone mentioned gardens with twinkling lights? So maybe a cool/romantic venue?
- balconies to escape to
- Fireworks! (Regina)

Obviously, we’d love to have as many people contribute as are interested, so if you have a character that would perform something fitting for a formal masquerade or would be a good musician for the band or might like to provide some delicate little finger food catering, etc, just let me know. Maybe they’re not attending, but working the event instead. Up to you entirely, so long as it fits the theme.
EVERYONE is invited, including youngersters and beasties, and encouraged to really go all out with their outfits.
This will take place in early November.

Theodora and Dove
since I’m the one posting it anyway hahaha. Not planning to have either of them take on any specific roles, unless someone gets Theodora in a waitress outfit.Theodora:
Theodora has never been to something this formal, so she’ll be excited! The closest thing she’s attended was the prom a few months ago, and… really she’s in a much better Place now, so she should be good to mingle and make friends at this one.
And hopefully maybe can drag her breezy beau and best friend~

Dove will be there…obviously. First and foremost because she’s sort of expected to be, second because lets be real, she’ll outright LEAP at any opportunity to wear an expensive gown.
However, while she’ll be in a very familiar environment, she’s also probably going to be a lot more reserved and quiet than normal if anyone wants to go down that path with her. While she loves big events and fancy shiny things, the structure of it all will be bringing up some really uneasy feelings from home she’s been avoiding. She’ll be really excited beforehand, though, if anyone wants to go shopping.

Would there be a hall or balcony or something besides the garden that people can go to to get away from the noise and music???

Junko will definitely show up and in a manner designed to draw attention because so what if this isn't her show? I'm also inclined to have her cause some sort of minor trouble somehow though I'm not sure exactly what, yet. Maybe some Monokumas stashed away in the gardens/balconies to freak people out, we shall see.
Lancer will also be going because he has to support family so he'll be there largely for Augustine. There's not much he can really do to work the event and he wouldn't much feel obliged to either but he can probably dance at least (I assume as a royal he's had some training back in times when he wasn't at constant war).
Kyoya and Ann I'm not so sure about yet. I'm kind of tempted to have Ann help out at the photography booth or something though that'll also depend on if cast are attending etc. So we'll see what happens there.

Maybe I can (finally) make Dove run into Ann and Lancer if they're there. :) And of course! If she wants to help out with some sort of photo booth, that works! I think the cast of the musical will definitely be attending, but it won't be a huge deal, if that helps. They're just guests too.
