Well, it is considering Tony was about to be brainwashed after his canon point. Plus, it might give him some character development after he was free from the brainwash.

Also, I would plan for Sycamore to be brainwashed as well, but I have doubts for that. Plus, it might let learn more about Fayren during the incident.
