Hi, I've got a friend trying to enable me for this game and I'm super tempted but I'd like to ask something regarding a character I'm interested in playing. I read the FAQ multiple times and I didn't see anything about this type of character so I hope it's not a stupid question!

This character was the main protagonist in a game, but he never spoke in-game (aside from "Yes" or "No" prompts for player choice when the character is spoken to), he appeared in some cut scenes but only his body was visible (his face was always obscured) and he doesn't have a real name so the only name he's known by is his Air Force callsign and nicknames. Would a character like this be permitted after filling in the blanks of appearance and personality (while following canon as closely as possible so not to contradict it), or would this potentially put him into 'fandom OC' territory? I know I saw some characters in Genessia already that never spoke in their canons, but I wanted to make sure if a faceless/silent protagonist was okay.

Sorry for the delay in response! It's been a busy week. I was trying to figure out whether it would be okay or not and it probably is, but if you'd like, I can take a look at the canon and see if it would be acceptable for sure. Can you give me the series so that I can double check for you? Thank you!

Certainly! The series is Ace Combat, and the particular game in question is Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War, for the player character Blaze. A video for the first mission is here (where he's referred to as 'Kid') and here's the AC wiki article on him, if either of those help.

Neither of the moderators have played the game, but we believe that you should be allowed to play the character! There seems like enough content that you should be able to infer at least some parts of the personality, and given our history of silent protagonist and low-canon-availability acceptances, we believe that it should be fine! For his name just his Nickname / Call Sign will be fine. You don't have to come up with a name for him.
