Hey folks. I'm Mei and I've returned to the game with (yet) another Final Fantasy XIV character by the name of Alisaie Leveilleur. She's (also) a seventeen-year old Elezen (final fantasy version of an elf) who screws up way less than her twin brother Alphinaud. That's fortunate for everyone else because she has quite the temper on her. Originating from a land full of scholars who keep things to themselves, Alisaie goes against the grain of their recluse society and is open with her emotions.

So if she ends up not liking any of your characters, don't worry. She'll tell them straight to their face. There will be no doubt about that. She's also the kind of person to get involved in the things she believes in and won't sit back while other people seek out the answers to her questions, no, she'll just join them in the thick of it all. She's an Arcanist which means she uses a grimoire (half of one, she can't even get a full one from her dear old grandpappy, life sucks) as a focus for her spells and summons cute little fox-like creatures from jewels called Carbuncle. Maybe you've seen them before in another game?

Alisaie will be coming in from Heavensward patch 3.3 so if you need me to tone it down on the spoilers or anything, just let me know. Not that she's going to openly talk about anything. I don't see them coming up in the immediate future but thought it'd proper to throw it out there.

Say hello to Micaiah, an oft misunderstood (by the fandom) light mage from the second of of the Fire Emblem Tellius arc, Radiant Dawn. She's a generally kind person who's had a long, storied history with bigotry and the suffering of Daein, so she sometimes comes off a little bitter. You could even say her armor's pretty sour, thanks tvtropes.

She comes right after Daein's gotten its independence back, so she hasn't met Ike yet...

No but seriously, if you signed up or would like to oocly sign your character up for a date through Aphrodite's Matchmaking services for the following event, please reply to this post so I know who is going to be participating and can set up custom dates/escape rooms for the following event:

1. Customers will go on a one-on-one blind date to an Escape Room, where they will be told that they will have to follow clues in order to find keys. Once they have all four keys, they will be able to save the day/escape the pirates/whatever their escape room theme is.

2. Except Emerald fully plans to turn the power off and then quit her job as matchmaker (because she hates it anyway) halfway through the event without telling anyone who works there besides herself where the keys are, possibly after "turning up" the danger. (If it's a ship, she'll just leave the water running until the room starts flooding or a haunted house will have the AC turned to 10 degrees for 'chilling effect.')

3. Characters (in pairs) will have to deal with being stuck in a room until either they find the keys without active assistance or scenarios or until a rescue crew comes in to break the doors down. No one will die unless they somehow get stuck in a room with a serial killer who signed up, which is not part of the event but between you and the other player (and possibly your god if that's in your belief system).

Overall it's just supposed to be a fun 'stuck in an elevator' scenario and a great opportunity to deepen or develop CR. Keep in mind that anyone who signs up won't get their choice of who their partner is- that'll be Emerald's choice! (Which means either me being a lil shit or RNG.) If you see anyone signed up who you ABSOLUTELY do not want to be partnered with, just PM me on Emerald's journal (unhappy). I won't tell anyone, you won't tell anyone, no one will have any problems or ask questions or make anything awkward or uncomfortable.

It's totally fine for characters to sign other characters up from an IC standpoint (though the only official sign ups will be here)! CAVEAT: If your character would not show up if they weren't the one who signed themselves up, they need to at least have someone who will physically make sure they go upon being signed up. Emerald doesn't care enough to bother with no-shows, but OOCly you need to have a plan to get your character there- don't flake out on players, that's not cool. If something comes up and you can't participate, let me know and I'll change the partners so that everyone still has one.

As for when it is? The event takes place on Friday, July 8th! (I was going to put it this weekend, but I know that's a holiday for a lot of people and this will give people plenty of time to sign up too.) You must have your character signed up by Thursday, July 7th so that I have ample time to pair characters up and create an escape room scenario for them.
