WELCOME TO GENESSIA: THE BAY

Starting Point
Characters new to the city awaken within The Bay with a vague sense of having slept for too long and the grogginess that typically accompanies such a thing. They will be lying in a slightly-tilted cocoon of silver metal lined with silk and soft padding. The entire Bay is covered in about two inches of clear water, with multiple white lights throughout that dimly illuminate the enormous domed cavern of dark gray stone. There are twelve archways that all lead to the city outside. A simple white box lies on the character's chest, containing the essentials: a jeweled necklace of gold and opalescent stones (with one particular color more prominent than the others to identify which city the character may expand if they so choose), what appears to be a smart phone, a key, and a pamphlet. The pamphlet's cover states simply: 'Welcome to Genessia'. All of these items are crafted to the appropriate size for the new character. The Bay is located at the very heart of Genessia City.

The pamphlet first explains the smart phone, explaining it as a cross-city communication device, with easy instructions about how to communicate via text, audio, and/or video, and how to transmit privately, and also encourages the character to give it a try once he or she leaves the Bay. The necklace, the pamphlet goes on to further explain, is required in order to pass from Genessia City to one of the other four cities, and should be worn at all times not only to allow this ease of transportation, but to identify the owner to others in the city as 'real'. The key has a room number on it, and an address on the same street characters enter out onto upon exiting the Bay and the words "Genessia Commonspace" on one side of the key (unless you opted to choose one of the apartment buildings). The last fold in the pamphlet has a thick manila folder, where several red bills are stacked and bound by a white ribbon. The pamphlet states that this is the main currency for Genessia City in order to purchase room, board, and other necessities. It encourages the character to apply for a job in order to earn more if they so desire.

Just outside of every entrance to the Bay, new arrivals will find a magazine stand. The stand is stacked with brochures containing labeled maps of the primary city of Genessia. Next to the magazine rack is a rather high-tech looking stand that upon being approached, activates with the holographic projected image of a swarthy young man in a finely made dark blue suit, a long black ponytail down his back. He gives a brief bow and begins to speak, and subtitles in the common language of Genessia began to scroll along the bottom of the hologram.
"Greetings to you. My name is Roland Crane, mayor of Genessia City as of the time of this recording, and on behalf of Genessia and Schnee Company, I welcome you to Genessia. I'm afraid I'll have to ask for your full attention for a few minutes, as I have a lot to explain, and won't be able to respond to any questions you have as again, this is only a recording.

"Genessia is a self-contained world that pulls in inhabitants of all sorts of worlds, including you and me. The pendant you were provided with upon arriving marks you as a guest of Genessia, and you mustn't lose it for any reason, as it serves as your key to travel between regions and can't be replaced." As Roland explains the pendant, an enlarged hologram depicting one pops up beside him, rotating slowly in place before fading away.

"The device you've been given is important as well, as it allows you to communicate with others at great distances. It can be replaced, unlike your pendant, but it's expensive to do so, so try not to lose or break it." Again, a large model showing what Roland's talking about appears briefly beside him.

"There are six main regions in Genessia. The first is Genessia City, where you stand now, that serves as a central hub. Nova City is a place of advanced science and technology. Fayren is a land of magic and nature. In Everglade, undead and other creatures of the night roam freely. Attleton is a place of relative normality, compared to the other cities, but then again, that might depend on what's normal for your world. Finally, Windgate Creek only appeared recently, and we don't know as much about it.

"We might not be in our own worlds anymore, but with the help of the natives, we've maintained a thriving society where a normal, peaceful life is possible for anyone. I ask that you not entertain any ideas of disturbing that peace, as we're more than able to protect it against all comers.

"Now, I've gone on for long enough, so I'll wrap up here. More information is provided in the reading materials nearby," Roland waves an arm at the nearby magazine racks, and a large holographic arrow pops up if that wasn't enough, "and you're welcome to ask questions at any Schnee Company location or over the network. Again, welcome to Genessia, and I hope you enjoy your stay." Roland bows one final time, and the hologram winks out.

If the hologram is tampered with, a strange gas will be released from the device. It seems to be a gas that knocks biological creatures unconscious. The device also calls law enforcement for destruction of property charges.

Would you like to add a new location to the game? Most locations can be handwaved, like if there's a Chinese food place your character goes to once or something for a one time thread, but if you want to add a specific location that your character may frequent or you need for various purposes, you can add it here! You can also open subarchways. It's easy! Reply to this post with the correct form:

NOTICE REGARDING SUBARCHWAYS: Subarchways will not be approved if the only description provided is an outside link. You MUST provide a short single-paragraph summary in order to have your subarchway approved. This is in order to help all players who may not be familiar with canon able to quickly see what the subarchway is without having to spend hours reading wiki links. You may still include a link for further details, but it cannot be the only thing submitted to open a subarchway. Thank you for your cooperation.

If you are trying to open a character-run business, please reply to the employment page instead.

Character: Tenno of Naramon
Username: PrimedDreams
Which Archway is this Subarchway being established under? Nova City
Subarchway Location: The character's ship
Location Details: It is a simple orbiter ship, bigger on the inside. It has simple accomodations and is able to provide maintenance to the warframes as well as the weapons. It also grants access to the in-game arsenal, gear, and pets. This includes a variety of other weapons, frames, arcwings, and space dogs/cats. It is also hand-decorated and a bit cluttered around the crafting station.
Price Character is Paying for Archway: The double barreled Tigris shotgun that the tenno came in with. It is the "Sancti Tigris" variety which means it creates a powerful corrosive shockwave from time to time. At the time of writing it is either my most used or second most used primary in the game. For the sake of this sacrifice I cannot obtain another sancti tigris variety shotgun for myself.

Note: I'll only have access to what I currently have in game.

Also, question. The liset ship is very small physically. It's probably only 40 feet from nose to tail end. Would it be possible to bring the physical ship into the game and park it somewhere? Also are the major city archways large enough to accomodate something like that? Should an event require some sort of badass drop in? Picture: http://fs5.directupload.net/images/170822/a8jahf5g.jpg (this is the liset prime which my tenno uses. It's slightly longer and slightly wider than the reglar one.) If not I think the only way to access it would be via teleportation.

Alright. How bout Maroo's Bazaar? It was a once glorious relay (small space station) that is run down and cobbled together from various parts and the once shimmering halls are now filled with tarnished metal and cracked glass. Unlike other relays, it features only the Hangar, the Main Entrance, and the Concourse and contains no additional benefits or services inherent to other relays. Maroo herself occupies the entrance to the concourse tempting anyone who will listen with dangerous missions and promises of treasure.

But mostly its just a player trade hub for anyone who doesn't have a clan or dojo to conduct trades in.

The hangar itself is fairly large and and can dock a decent number of small fighter-sized ships. (In case anyone else wants to bring one in too.)

Location Name: Attleton Boardwalk
Brief Description of Location: Exactly what it sounds like! A boardwalk. With several openings for shops, restaurants and the like, open enough to roller blade on! Because the mayor never left the 90's. It's your standard wooden boardwalk, stairs leading up to the main walkway, electric lamps to light the way at night, raised high off the ground to keep it dry.

From... from all the no water. Because there's no water.

Which Archway is this Subarchway being established under? Fayren
Subarchway Location: The Pillars of the Holy See of Ishgard.

Location Details: The Pillars served as the seat of Ishgard's former theocracy as well as the residential ward of the nobility. The pristine beauty of the buildings in the Pillars above is in stark contrast to the crumbling masonry and scorched structures in Foundation below. The link provided lists the notable buildings/landmarks of the Pillars. Its aesthetic is gothic stonework; traditional old-school cathedrals, spires, etc. It has a wonderful view of the mountain the city was founded on, Abalathia's Spine - perfect for those who enjoy watching sunrises and sunsets. The air is very cold all year around (along with the rest of Ishgard) given it's altitude and the cold climate of Coerthas in general.

Fortemps Manor, also known as the Alicorn, is what Era is looking for in particular. It is a three floor manor with towers and spires. Available images found here. The upper levels would be decorated with much of the same aesthetic and have numerous rooms (a minimum of four bedrooms).

Price Character is Paying for Archway: The ability to drink hot chocolate, which is Very Important to her because it's a drink Haurchefant would always make for her when they spent time together. It became her #1 beverage to go to for comfort, and to remind her of her departed friend.

A quick question - characters that could possibly be applied for would not appear in the subarchway as NPCs, would they?

And it would be impossible for them to not be there, unless they were in a different district in the last memory she has of the area, correct?

What would happen if someone apped in one of said NPCs?

Subarchway Location: Whitebeard's Home Island
Location Details: One Piece 909, the chapter in which Whitebeard's home island appears. The island is shaped like a smokestack, and the outer coastline is covered in the crumbling ruins of a once prosperous town, terraced along the mountainside. Several dense stands of pine trees have taken root amid the rocks and ruins. A waterfall cascades down the side of the mountain, obscuring a long, dark tunnel which opens up on a valley in the center of the island. The valley is verdant and lush, home to a quaint village, where people have domesticated sphynxes. Marco has a two story log cabin with a waterwheel. Adjacent to the island are Whitebeard and Ace's memorials, which are considered to be a part of the town.
Price Character is Paying for Archway: ALL of his memories before Whitebeard. And given that he's a phoenix, (and old, and one of the most knowledgeable and experienced in the world) that's a very big deal.

Which Archway is this Subarchway being established under? Attleton (preferably in Attleton U replacing and/or near his office.
Subarchway Location: 12's Office at St. Luke's University Bristol, UK 2017
Location Details: Handy dandy description link (also including his TARDiS)
Price Character is Paying for Archway: Memories of his companion Clara which he's just gotten to regain. (Because it is just an office, but the TARDiS is a super big deal) With the only thing being remembered was that he loved Clara and she wanted him to forget.

Character: Mother Brain

Which Archway is this Subarchway being established under? Nova City
Subarchway Location: Videoland
Location Details: Videoland is a realm where the characters and worlds of video games exist, and are all interconnected via warp zone pipes. Videoland is caught in a war between the Palace of Power where Princess Lana and her heroic team, and Mother Brain's Fortress of Evil where she, too, has aligned with powerful villains all willing to do her bidding to rule this realm. Some of the video game worlds that have been reached before include Castlevania, Bayou Billy's swamps, The Legend of Zelda's Hyrule, and many, many others. Entering this particular archway lands the character smack dab on the brain-like mech planet of Metroid, a dreary world threaded with a mix of technology and grotesque organic compounds. Soldiers are crawling the planet's surface and have been instructed to take any intruders prisoner for Mother Brain to interrogate. Tread with caution!
Price Character is Paying for Archway: Mother Brain is forsaking the memories of her parents/creators as well as the history of her rise to power. It's a lot, as she wants to open up the entirety of the Videoland realm to exploit its resources. (And it conveniently saves me the trouble of coming up with a ton of head canon!)

Oops. I mis-read that. I thought you only had to have a link.

Location Details: It's just a regular old professor's office, somewhat like his old one but a bit bigger and a bit posher. A desk sits in the center of a room packed with bookshelves and some ornate lights. There is usually a guitar sitting somewhere. In one corner of the office sits a big blue police box, completely normal and common place and nothing extraordinary about it honestly.

It's an 80's cartoon, so nothing in depth for the show was ever established, except that she threw the king into an alternate dimension and imprisoned him there to weaken the Palace of Power. The closest we get is from the game itself:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mother_Brain#Concept_and_characteristics

Which says that she possibly came from a human brain that went insane. As the show is based on the games, it could be reasonable to assume it would transfer. The show did take some pretty weird liberties with the characters, though (see Simon Belmont, holy shit).

I don't think this relates to fanon/headcanon to assume that she had some sort of vague origin as opposed to just popping into existence with all her resources and influence. As she'd be permanently losing the memories due to the new rules saying the price can't be regained without a charm wish (something that would never happen), any background details she has wouldn't be played out or even mentioned, so it's not a violation of the rules.

I'm sure her origins have great meaning to her, just not to me, ha ha! But hey, if memories of enemies counts, I'm all for that! I just didn't think it counted if they hate the person. Go ahead and pull her memories of Captain N in that case!

Subarchway Location: Monster Island
Location Details: An island off the coast somewhere in the DBZ world (Earth). It's inhabited with various creatures and monsters including a rare Minotaurus. There are common animals to rare creatures such as unicorns. There's a beach on one side, jungle in the middle, mountain ranges, deserts in one part, caves, and even a forest with a waterfall. It can inhabit almost any creature and monster, an ideal paradise for them.

Close by, there is another island, much smaller and more resident where a cabin is, Seventeen's house.
Price Character is Paying for Archway: His limitless stamina ability. Which means he will have to spend his energy wisely when using it, and this also drops his recovery rate. He's going to have fun learning.
