You can use moves outside of the search mechanics as you see fit, so long as you still follow the rules for such things (no godmoding other people, getting permission to affect them, etc.). We trust people not to do anything too crazy, but if a player is abusing their Pokemon to cheat or break the game, the spirits will just take it away from them.
