Hello all! Aro here, bringing you... another Saiyuki guy! But for once, this isn't one of the actually-very-rare Sanzo priests. Nope, this guy's not even a priest at all! Amazing, innit?

He's a half-breed demon-human, and a reincarnated god like most of the Sanzo ikkou (the four main characters of Saiyuki). He has no memory of his time in Heaven, same as the rest. Kazuya Minekura (the Mangaka) herself describes Gojyo as "a rough and ready playboy who is actually like a very reliable big brother".

Gojyo's a (regularly very successful) flirt who made his money before the Journey to the West by playing poker. Before that, he made it with thievery. And before that, he made it by street brawling for cash. I think that pretty neatly sums him up. If you want more information (or images, or to hear how he sings), check out his actual journal!
