[Mini-Event][PART 2] Wrath Carnival

Why? Cause the lot of you have rested enough. ~~Hopefully those wings grew back.~~

What: Wrath Carnival
Who: Everyone
Where: Fayren
When: August 23-30, 2014
Warnings: Possible Deaths. Temporary Mind Control.

[WRATH CARNIVAL]

1. A huge tent shall appear one morning (Aug 23) in the woods of Fayren. It has bright colours and lots of balloons surrounding it. Lots of rare animals are roaming around it as well.
2. A circus master shall send out a message to everyone, inviting them to the show. Circus Master: Bankotsu
3. Constant parades around Fayren trying to invite people for their evening shows. Unfortunately, everything looks solid and just like an ordinary circus.
4. Once the show begins, no one can leave and they finish the show. Once done, the brainwashing is complete (Done by Bankotsu).
5. How to break free, someone has to knock your character unconscious? or Dead?
6. Purpose of brainwashing? To be an evil!AU of your character who will stop at nothing to kill another character. So brainwashed characters need to be paired with another person who is their close CR. Collateral damages are acceptable.

[SUMMARY]
Basically, this is most open for powerful characters (even those who aren't, or people who have no powers at all but can hold a weapon) that have good alignment. Very good people or children. These are people whom everyone knows can do no evil. Even if you shove the character's face on the ground, they will just ask 'why?', or cry, or just say, 'that's not very nice Mister!'.

How will the brainwashing work? Bankotsu will have the power for those days to identify the person's deepest regret. Were you pushed by somebody and they never apologized for it? Did someone steal from you and got away with a simple, 'oh I didn't know it was yours'? Did someone kill someone dear to you and gave you a really good excuse so you couldn't hold them responsible? Did someone hurt you in any way? Spill your soup or dated the man you loved? During the AU event, did someone do something mean to you? Do you hate the person who won the pageant, thinking it should have been you?

No matter how minor the issue was, your anger with that person will be multiplied by a hundred times. You'll be unreasonably vengeful. And you will not stop until you kill the person in question. These issues are not limited to the things that happened in Genessia. These offenses could have happened in your world.

However, this does not mean you will have an array of powers you never had. That'll be too much. So if you have no powers at all, it might mean you'll simply stack on some knives and go on a stabbing spree.

Can the other person talk you out of it? This is the interesting part. NO.
WHY? Because before you can snap out of it, you will hear Bankotsu's voice echoing in your mind. Constantly telling you the other person is lying, and that you should really seek revenge. So really, the only way to survive is to knockout the person who was brainwashed.

[Sign-ups]
Preferably, you should have someone in mind who will be on the receiving end of your wrath, and the person needs to agree. At the very least, you must have someone who will stop you from endangering NPCs. But as much as possible, there must be another character receiving your wrath. (This is also to keep people busy from going after Bankotsu. But there will definitely be a boss fight).

If you have people-- for example like Hiei who can manipulate and hypnotize with his Jagan, can he possibly break those trances? He might be a match for many things like angels, but he is also a demon of the S Class Rank capable of destroying a planet. XD just out of curiosity if he so chooses to help people.... if he wants to can he break their trances if that happens?

Hmmm if that would be the case, he might be rivaling Bankotsu in the thoughts of these people. Which chances are, Ban would have to stop him.

Of course, that would need the permission of bunny too.

Yeah so I mean Hiei won't be going around doing it just because he wants to, but he might a. do it because he got guilt tripped or b. he thinks it's humouring to foil people's plans :| if it amuses him. I'll ask that. Because Hiei's Jagan is pretty much a good counter to a lot of this unless it's like IDK Lucifer. fff but yesI will ask. no worries.

I would say he has a good chance. And this is a new power for Bankotsu, I'm unsure how well he'd fair against Hiei. Likely he'll accomplish breaking the trances but I will ask that Hiei doesn't do this right away and let's the event go on for awhile, or just keep it down to a select few.

Likely is Bankotsu feels Hiei doing this he'll go check him out. Ban won't be easy :V he is powered by Lucifer and he can now use his demon sword to it's full abilities again. For the sake of the boss fight I can also say he used Lucifer's abilities to escape this encounter if Hiei is close to winning. He can finish him off there.

As I said, he might not even do it at all. I don't plan on using it as soon as anything happens because obvs that would ruin the plot. It's just for future reference when I thought about if he so chooses to go with that specific route of action. As Hiei never really cares about people unless they are his friends, or someone he is protective of.

I am aware of that if he does choose to do it and yeah makes sense. Of course. Again it's unlikely that he'll do anything if it doesn't A. involve his friends or B. someone he's close to. XD. Thank you for letting me know. I just wanted to ask just to know for future.

Erm... A huge happy parade and collection of emotions in Fayren would most likely attract the attention of Koishi... In fact it would for sure attract her...

But she's completely immune to any and all mind altering magic, psychic, or otherwise brain washing effects. Sooooo... I dunno. Maybe you want to do something with that?

if you wish for Koishi to join the event, since obviously, people know her as a nice, bubbly and cute girl you can.

Well, brain washing is a short term for it (couldn't explain it in depth cause, people might get bored). But basically, this is what happens. We are not removing you from your own thoughts from your body initially. Meaning, Bankotsu won't manipulate you readily so you can kill everyone. But what happens is, you absorb the negative aura of the tent. Something inside the affected character stirs. It's almost like they talked to a friend about their problems, and said friend blew the problem out of proportion. In this case, it's to a higher degree.

Meaning, for example, Lucifer wouldn't give you any more cookies, even if you really loved them and he knows that. Easily you shrug that off. At least, normally that is your characters response. but here, you remember what he did to you. Somehow, you are fixated on that action. Like, you can't think of anything else but that Lucifer is a dick for depriving you of cookies. The hate becomes so strong that you confront the person with no other aim but to kill the person. Even if naturally it is not an option for you.

Now, when that hate does not materialize to a killing effort within hours of it happening, a stronger urge fills you. This is where Bankotsu or Lucifer will come in. Intensifying that hate, to the point where the person's existence tortures you so very much. This is were complete brain washing will occur. Your character, since she is strong enough, she will hear it in words. She'll hear "kill her", multiple times, to the point that you may just faint if you try to fight it.

At the same time, until you haven't been knocked out, if someone is persuading Koishi that she shouldn't kill, again, boss will interfere if the character starts to waver.

So, we can fight this and what not, but it's really up to you if you want to join the event. Because this IS an event. So if you're joining your character, it means you want him or her to be evil just this once.

What's nice about this is you have an out. After everything has been said and done, people can easily note that it was not your fault. Something was controlling you, so you can't be blame for it. Of course it gives way to feels as an aftermath. Your partner character will realize: Hey, I did something bad to Koishi. That's why this happened. It's because I did something terrible and people abused her because of my action. So in the end, there's a closure for you and your CR, in a way.

So it allows you to play an evilAU without the torment of having your CR believe you're evil, or terrible. So basically, this is like an extension of the AU event.....that is more...well, dramatic.

I can see how the fact its a negative energy rather than a straight up brainwashing would change the technical aspects of the effect for most characters. However its still a mental effect and Koishi's immunity is an absolute thing. She can't be influenced because, for all intents and purposes, there's almost nothing TO influence. A good chunk of her mind is mind is missing and, while she can feel great emotional intensity, it would need to be one of the four cardinal emotions (joy, sorrow, fear, anger.) She's actually completely incapable of feeling hate, hope, long-term desire, romantic love, and many others. Because she's incapable of most long term complex emotions. Now that's not saying she can't get mad. As I said she can feel anger and is quite capable of killing. She's done it before. But this is because of something that is actively happening to her or someone under her care. And even then all she'll remember is "This person is not very nice. I should avoid them because I don't want to hurt them."

The touhou power scale is strange like that. Characters are "absolutes" in whatever area those powers revolve in.

Interestingly enough, however she does have a single lingering semi-regret but that's against herself. For damaging her mind reading ability in the first place. However that's still very much "Oh god what was I thinking? How could I have hurt my sister like tha- Oh! A shiny! 8D"

I suppose the point stands that it is an event and things. I probably wont join then and just assume Koishi went and left without making an impact, or probably even being noticed, and that's fine too, though unfortunate. I'll poke you if anything comes to mind.

Unfortunately that's the best thing I can do at the moment without overpowering any of the characters too much. I can't have them gaining absolute control of your characters, else, that's frowned upon. Cause I don't wish to border on being too overpowered. Hence I had to make Lucifer stop after killing 4 people after the event last time. Though he's the most powerful character in his canon, I try to limit him the best I can.

Yeah, I think its best if you just have Koishi avoid it then. Because I don't want to overstep boundaries. And well, this event is meant for people to have fun with their characters, generate angst and feels, for things that should never happen in the first place unless they are under the influence.

(And no matter what...Azula is just really frightening)

Alright. That's fine :D And if we assume Koishi passively observed it, it could lead to hilarious awkwardness if it came up in conversation with Lucifer at a later date. Quite possibly when she returns to steal a glass of milk to go along with the cookies she took x3

I don't intend for Koishi to die. She's more durable than a human and has some general defensive magic. Add danmaku refined reflexes and you get something as hard to kill as it is cute.

Even so, I have no doubt though that Lucifer has significantly stronger physical capabilities. It's more a matter of if Lucifer will feel the need to use enough power to strike Koishi down quickly before Koishi decides to actually retaliate with something significant.

ALL THE HUGS!!! (hugging Azula would be a lot funnier, actually. Because Azula.)

Also, hilariously enough, she's not a little girl. She's a fully grown adult. Her species is just tiny. Which is fortunate because otherwise her childish behavior would be considered unacceptable xD

I still think they'd fight each other to a stalemate. The moment Koishi senses deadly intention she's going to ramp up her counter attacking. By which I mean mindbreak tier stuff. She's not as keen on killing though so she's not going to try quite as hard instantly... probably.

AND WHAT'S WRONG WITH HUGS?

Luc on the otherhand.. he's cold and murderous, and doesn't really care for peoples lives XD

Roseblack is likely to try to take charge and coordinate an effort to take down Bankotsu, in the bossfight. Seems like a chance to actually use some of her general-ing skills and War Charms. Depends if she can get a few recruits though.

One tactic she'll probably be using is to put up a Dragon-Seared Battlefield to hinder Bankotsu with environmental hazards (grabby vines, fast-growing brambles, etc) while shielding her allies from its effects with Enfolded in the Dragon's Wings and buffing them with other War Charms.

(also why is the PM button greyed out on the Bankotsu journal?)

Lust and Wrath positions have been filled. The rest is still under consideration. Also, just like Guardians, you need to be active.

Lex seems like an obvious choice for Greed. It'd probably take some hardcore negotiating for him to accept an offer from the actual devil but considering who else Luthor associates with it shouldn't be impossible to cut a deal with him.

He'll probably spend a lot of time scheming contingency plans just in case he ever needs to try to backstab Luc. Not that that'll ever be necessary, riiiiiiight? :p

Well... it's hard to backstab the one who backstabs everyone...not that he'd have a reason to do so...at the moment.

...and I just spent 10 minutes looking for the Samurai Jack clip from Jack's duel with human-form Aku with the "I knew you knew I knew you knew..." quote, but the closest I could find on youtube was this clip from earlier in the episode overdubbed with audio from Sherlock and this one from near the beginning of the same episode.

WHAAAAAT, BAN DOESN'T WANT TO DO THIS, I'm kidding. Anyway...

For those worried about my activity I will definitely be active during these days when I can I will be slow the 23 because I will still be on vacation, but the 24th onward I will be hitting everything I can.

A few of his abilities will be as followed:

Natural Ability:
Super Strength: He can easily hold his own against a half demon who's able to lift a bolder three times his size with one hand. With one punch he's able to make a good sized hole into a cave wall.
Stamina: He is a trained combatant, a mercenary even. He's used to fighting entire armies so his stamina will be immense, as well as his ability to take hits.

- On this note: one on one battles will be more effective against him then multiple on one. This is because he's used to battling multiple people at one time!! He will definitely be aiming to break your formation and turn your attacks against each other.

Hand to Hand Professional : If you think he'll be weaker without his sword you are sorely mistaken. He is five times stronger without his Banryu. This is because his movements are now free and he's not carrying 70 Kilo sword on his shoulder. He is a well-trained fighter who knows how to take hits and work with them.

Fighting Habits: Probably the worst thing with fighting Bankotsu, is that once he's knocked you down you are likely to stay down. Once you have been defeated he will kill you off, he's not the type of villain that torments those that can't fight any longer. He will focus on the strongest opponent but if someone comes in and proves to be a nuisance he will aim to kill you. (Example: a Healer will become the first target, or a long range combatant that chooses to interfere.)

Lucifer's Aid:
Demon Sword: If you only read the manga or don't know the series at all you'll be wondering what I mean by the demon sword. I take Bankotsu from the anime where after slaying 1,000 warlords and 1,000 demons his sword transformed into a demonic blade. Before Bankotsu couldn't wield it to its full capabilities without the aid of the Shikon Jewel shards, but now with Lucifer backing him up you can expect it to be equal or even worse since essentially this sword takes Bankotsu's wrath and uses it as its power. (I wonder why he's the General of Wrath...hmmm) Anyway Banryu's abilities include:

-Heat Blast (熱ブラスト Kanetsu Bakufuu) Bankotsu uses a series of flaming wave-like flashes that burn everything in sight.

-Dragon Thunder (ドラゴンサンダー Ryuraisen, literally meaning "Dragon Thunder Flash") Bankotsu is able to summon a thunderstorm and manipulate the lightning, creating a number of lethal electric bolts that almost kills everyone on Hijiri Island. The attack cannot be fully controlled, and hits randomly around Bankotsu.

-Dragon Hammer (ドラゴンハンマー Banryusen, literally meaning "Barbaric Dragon Flash") Bankotsu can use an attack that is almost identical to Inuyasha's Wind Scar, except it's pink in color.(The wind Scar releases a powerful blast able to kill 100 yokai with one sweep.)

-Hatred Ball (憎しみボール Gojou Tama) Bankotsu's most powerful attack. The hatred built inside the halberd combined with the power of the 4 Shikon Jewel shards embedded in Banryū (this time powered by the Wrath Jewel) creates a huge and powerful ball of swirling, fiery yōki. However, this all-powerful attack is ultimately his downfall: because it is flowing with demonic energy, Inuyasha is able to use the Backlash Wave to reflect the attack back at Bankotsu, shattering the Banryū and defeating him soundly (orz)

-Banryū Flash (禁止流フラッシュ Banryu Furasshu) He swings his Banryu and unleashes a wave of red energy that is strong enough to cancel Inuyasha's Wind Scar.

Possibilities?: Seeing as Banryu was born on death and hatred it can be assumed that the sword will have even more power than before. I don't plan to put this power into its attacks (seeing as those are already pretty "OMG HOW DO I DEFLECT THIS SHIT?" powerful) but instead into possible armor. Banru was made and used by Bankotsu for many years and is often called his companion. Thusly I think it's safe to say it'll want to try and protect itself and its master in some way, mostly after experiencing its own attack reflected back on it. The armor will not be indestructible but it will be a bit of a buffer and help even out the odds with god level power and in case someone else has the power to reflect Bankotsu's attacks. This armor will follow the theme of DRAGON and take the form of scales and make fire and electrical based attacks rather useless. Its weakness is therefore water and ice based attacks or wind based attacks.

He ain't going to be easy, but he has died twice, lets see if a third can be managed.
